The value of your items depends on the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) gold price, which is fixed twice daily (AM & PM). Since market prices fluctuate throughout the day, our online calculator provides only an estimate based on the current rates at the time of your visit. Final prices are confirmed once your items are tested and weighed.
We primarily refine and purchase gold, but we also accept silver, platinum, and palladium. If you’re unsure about your items, feel free to contact us—we’ll be happy to advise.
Gold purity (also called fineness) is measured in parts per thousand. For example, 9ct gold is marked as 375, meaning it contains 37.5% pure gold. Many items are hallmarked to indicate their purity. For unmarked items, we use XRF technology (X-ray fluorescence) to accurately scan and determine the carat and purity before pricing.
No problem—we offer free testing. Bring your items in, and we’ll verify whether they contain precious metals using professional-grade equipment.
At DV Trading, we buy items based on their precious metal content, so prices are typically offered as scrap value. If you’re looking to sell designer or antique jewellery as finished pieces, we may be able to refer you to trusted dealers or pawnbrokers in our network.
